Vault build numbers

Vault Build Numbers

In the Help>About and Server logs is reported the build number of the version of Vault Server used.
This can help sometimes for you to confirm what version of the software is actually being used if there is some misunderstanding or miscommunication with the servers Administrator.
For example if they are trying to log in Vault 2009 from a Vault 2010 client. Looking at the log files on the server can tell you what version they are actually using.

2. Click the EXPORT button.
3. In the Export custom settings dialog box, select a location to save the ZIP file created by the program.

Clean uninstall of Autodesk software

Perform a clean uninstall of an Autodesk product that is crashing when started or displaying fatal or unrecoverable errors.
  1. First, uninstall the program through the Windows Control Panel.
  1. Then run the Microsoft Install/Uninstall Fixit utility and try to uninstall again:
How to troubleshoot problems when you install or uninstall programs on a Windows-based computer

  2. If you are having licensing issues, you can remove the licensing storage file as well. If you are not dealing with licensing errors, removing this file may be unnecessary. Remove the Trusted Storage file (Licensing) located in these areas:

  1. Delete any residual Program Files from these locations:
  • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\
  • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\
  • C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\
  • C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\
  • C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\
The program folders should be clearly named.
  1. Clean out your TEMP files:
    1. Click the Windows Start button.
    2. In the Run box type %TEMP% and press Enter
    3. Highlight and delete all files. Ignore any files in use

Autodesk Network Licence Options File

Issue:

You would like to know how to control network license access using an options file with the FLEXnet® network license manager.

Solution:

Note: This information applies to all network versions of Autodesk products.
Access to licenses is controlled with a FLEXnet options file that is configured with the settings you want to use. The options file is an optional component of the FLEXnet license management system and is not required for normal license operation.
